As part of the initiative to curb traffic violations, 32 traffic police vehicles have been outfitted with dash cameras, while 28 officers have been issued mobile AI-enabled cameras.
These cutting-edge systems are designed to identify violations such as driving without a helmet, risky maneuvers and failure to wear seatbelts. The captured infractions, in the form of photos or videos, will serve as evidence for issuing challans (fines).
City Police Commissioner G S Malik flagged off the AI-equipped vehicles on Wednesday.
