Adventurer's discovery in remote ocean shocks marine science experts

Earlier this year, we reported on British adventurer Chris Brown and his son Mika's first expedition to Point Nemo in the South Pacific between New Zealand and Chile and 1,670 miles from any land.

Scientists have long insisted the area - Nemo is Latin for "no one" was a "dead zone" and unable to support developed marine life.

But, in a discovery that has sent shockwaves around the marine science community, a water sample taken by digital marketing tycoon Chris, 62, was found to contain a particle of polyethylene terephthalate (PET).
