HARVEY ELLIOTT spent some of his summer watching Calvin Harris in Ibiza before cutting short his holiday to make sure he finally becomes a hit at Liverpool.
Feel So Close may be a track by the Scottish DJ but, it would also be a fitting title for the Reds midfielder.
That is where Elliott, 21, has been a couple of times in his Liverpool career. He was so close to being one of the main men under Jurgen Klopp but fell out of favour either because of niggling injuries or the return of more senior players.
Now he feels this is the season when he has to step up and take the chance offered by a new manager in Arne Slot, above, being in charge at the club.
Elliott, who signed for Liverpool in 2019 from Fulham, said: "It's just to make it a bit more about myself and maybe me being a bit more selfish in certain ways.
"But I have that team spirit in me, I will never lose that. I want to play for the team and the badge, I love the club. But, in certain situations, I need to think about myself more.
