AT last Bake Britain is on the way, with a mini-heatwave tipped to send temperatures soaring to nearly 26C this weekend.

London yesterday revelled in 23C at the start of three days of forecast glorious weather.

Met Office experts said highs of 26C are possible in some areas of South East England tomorrow as the country enjoys warmer temperatures and blue skies following months of miserable weather.

Heavy rain had hit events on Bank Holiday Monday as "danger to life' thunderstorms and flood alerts affected South London plus Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire.
