THE Queen has pledged in a landmark documentary she will "keep trying" to end domestic violence.
Camilla says in the film - made by an all-female crew - that it is a "heinous crime" and she is determined to help ensure the issue is no longer taboo.
One in five adults experience domestic abuse and it is estimated that every week three women die by suicide as a result.
The 90-minute ITV1 and ITVX film follows the Queen over a year at engagements and includes previously unseen meetings with survivors and a visit to a refuge.
On the prospect of ending domestic violence, Camilla told the documentary Her Majesty The Queen: Behind Closed Doors that "it is going to take a long, long time because it has been going on forever. It's been going since time began.
