Every year since he was born, a new portrait has been released by Kensington Palace. But this year has proven to be an exception.

The decision may have been influence by the furore following the last time the family released a photo.

Last month a photo of the Princess of Wales with her children, George, 10, Charlotte, eight, and Louis, six, was shared to celebrate Mother's Day.

But concerns were raised after it appeared to have been edited.
