PRESENTER Kirstie Allsopp revealed she was contacted by social services for allowing her teenage son to go on an interrailing trip.

The Location, Location, Location host allowed her son Oscar, 15, to go travelling across Europe with his 16-year-old friend this summer.

This form of travel involves going around Europe by train using an international rail pass.

However, she has since been contacted by a social worker, who told her that a file had been opened after child protection concerns were raised.

Kirstie, 52, claimed officials did not understand that she had been targeted by someone falsely alleging neglect and she branded the move "Orwellian".

She added: "I just felt sick, absolutely sick. Then I was cross.
