SEVEN police officers abused their positions to access confidential details about the disappearance and murder of Sarah Everard to satisfy their curiosity, a disciplinary hearing was told.

Four serving and three former officers are accused of having no reason for looking at the files other than to gather information, following an audit by the Met's directorate of professional standards.

The electronic records related to the search for Ms Everard, who vanished in March 2021, and the arrest of Wayne Couzens, a police firearms officer who raped and murdered her.
