Taylor's £1bn Swiftie shot in the arm for economy

TAYLOR Swift's Eras Tour will pump a staggering £1billion into the UK economy from next month.

Some 1.2 million ticket-holders will spend an average of £848 to see Taylor, 34, whose first British show starts in Edinburgh on June 7.

But the price of getting a coveted seat plus other costs is more than 12 times the average cost of a night out (£67), over twice the amount to attend a wedding (£398) and even more than a UK stag or hen do (£779).

Research by Barclaycard found with millions registering for tickets, and her Wembley shows reportedly selling out in 14 minutes, the star's tour will see fans spending £997million in total.
