EMMA FINUCANE will reach for the skies in Paris - just like her great uncle, a wartime hero fighter pilot in the Battle of Britain.

Sprint sensation Finucane (left) goes to the Olympics as the fastest woman on two wheels and with Team GB legend Dame Laura Kenny tipping her to win a hat-trick of gold medals.

But the 21-year-old Welsh flyer has an even more exciting family tree as a descendant of Paddy Finucane, who was dubbed the 'Shamrock Spitfire' after becoming a scourge of the Luftwaffe almost 85 years ago.
