THE Tories have been told to hurry up and force criminals to face justice after cowardly Lucy Letby refused to attend her sentencing yesterday.
The serial killer nurse shunned the heartbroken families of her victims as she was handed a rare whole life sentence.
Parents were forced to address the empty dock at Manchester crown court as they described the devastation caused by her crimes.
Her refusal to appear in court was branded "one final act of wickedness from a coward" by the mother of twin boys Child É and Child F, who Letby was convicted of murdering and attempting to murder. Labour leader Keir Starmer accused the Government of dragging its heels over changing the law to order criminals to attend sentencing hearings.
He said: "Victims' families have been through the most awful ordeal. They're entitled to see justice delivered. So we need to change the law. I hope the Government will do it because I think it can be done very quickly."
