Drug baron probed over crime order

National Crime Agency officers arrested the 60-year-old at his partner's home at 6am yesterday.

He was questioned over alleged breaches of the order which came into force on his release from jail after 14 years last November.

The NCA said the breaches "relate to the unauthorised use of mobile phones, vehicles, bank accounts and travel".

Video footage shows officers battering the front door of Warren's partner, former jail officer Stephanie Smithwhite, in Boldon Colliery, Tyneside.

Smithwhite, 44, was jailed for two years in 2020 over her relationship with Warren at HMP Frankland, where she was working and he was serving time.

NCA officers also carried out searches at an address in the Royal Albert Dock area of Liverpool where it is understood that Warren has been staying.
