Manslaughter trial hears claim about what woman's ex told her

A DAD accused of leading a campaign of abuse that drove his former fiancee to take her own life told her "hitting you is like hitting a man", a jury has heard.

Kiena Dawes, 23, dropped her ninemonth-old daughter at a friend's home before driving to a railway line where she was fatally hit by a train.

Her suicide note on her phone named her ex, Ryan Wellings, as her killer.

Wellings, 30, is on trial accused of her manslaughter, as well as controlling and coercive behaviour over a two-anda-half year period, and assault causing actual bodily harm.

The jury was shown a doorbell video of Kiena leaving her daughter at the home of friend Kacie Valentine.
