HUNT FOR MURIEL'S REMAINS..55YRS ON

POLICE have begun digging in a final search for the remains of a woman who was kidnapped and murdered 55 years ago.

Muriel McKay, 55, was held at a farm in 1969 after being mistaken for the then-wife of media mogul Rupert Murdoch, Anna Maria.

The kidnappers, brothers Arthur and Nizamodeen Hosein, had demanded a £1million ransom.

Though her body was never found, they were convicted of Mrs McKay's murder in 1970, and jailed.

Nizamodeen claimed Mrs McKay, married to news executive Alick McKay, died of a heart attack after seeing a TV appeal by her family.

Arthur died in prison in 2009.

It was once thought Mrs McKay's body was fed to pigs but Nizamodeen told Mrs McKay's daughter Dianne that he remembered where she had been buried at Stocking Farm near Bishop's Stortford, Herts.
