Owner has no regrets over her replica dog

THE owner of Britain's first cloned dog says the cost is the only thing stopping her from doing it again.

Rebecca Bourne's sausage dog, Winnie, was cloned by a South Korean genetics firm in 2014 after she won a TV competition.

The process, which cost £60,000, resulted in the birth of "Mini Winnie", who is now a grandmother herself.

Rebecca, 40, has even written a children's book about her pets.

And she says: "If I could afford it, I would definitely do it again." The original Winnie died aged 17 when she was hit by a car in 2019, and Rebecca says Mini Winnie brought her a lot of comfort after an "awful day".
