A WOMAN raped as a teenager by a Met Police officer has spoken of her long fight for justice after he was finally jailed for 16 years.

Adam Provan, 44, had humiliated and repeatedly raped a fellow officer between 2003 and 2005, before raping GCSE student Lauren Taylor twice in 2010.

Provan had used a fake name to meet Lauren, then 16, for a blind date and had pretended to be 22 years old.

Sentencing yesterday, Judge Noel Lucas told Wood Green crown court in North London that he was troubled by the way the Met handled the complaints from Provan's female colleague.

He said the Met "were more concerned with looking after one of their own than taking her seriously".
