Given: Howe needs De Gea or Ramsdale for final push

SHAY GIVEN has urged Newcastle to land former Manchester United keeper David de Gea or Aaron Ramsdale to secure their push for a top-four finish.

The Geordies sounded out Arsenal No.2 Ramsdale, who needs first-team football to boost his chances of going to the Euros for England next summer. But a simpler deal would be to get free agent De Gea in on January 1.

Given (above) is convinced Newcastle sporting director Dan Ashworth is searching for reinforcements, with Nick Pope's dislocated shoulder ruling him out for five months.
