HOSPITALS have declared critical incidents due to "dangerous" overcrowding amid the longest strike by NHS junior doctors.
Patients will suffer as services face a "perfect storm", experts warn.
Three NHS trusts - Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth, Hants, Lewisham Hospital in South London and Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham - issued the alerts, saying their A&Es were full.
Others under "significant" or "extreme" pressure were Bolton NHS Foundation Trust in Greater Manchester, Leeds Teaching Hospital in West Yorkshire and Warwick Hospital.
