Jonas says she will fight for one more year..and end with her best chapter ever

NATASHA JONAS believes that 2024 will be her last year in boxing and she wants to make it the 'best chapter of the book'.

But you get the feeling a rematch with Mikaela Mayer must be on the page to ensure it is a fine send-off.

Jonas, 39, edged past the American to retain her IBF welterweight crown in a thrilling battle at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool on Saturday.

The Liverpudlian got the nod on a split decision but Mayer was left unimpressed by the scorecards which were 96-94 and 96-95 in the Brit's favour with one card of 97-93 to the visiting fighter.

Jonas, who had been on the end of a disappointing card when she drew with Terri Harper in 2020, admitted she understood Mayer's frustrations.
