HUNDREDS of children are getting treated for video game addiction, with some attacking their families and gaming for up to 14 hours a day.
Other problem gamers end up suicidal, drop out of school, and skip meals and holidays to play all day.
The first NHS centre for gaming disorders has treated 745 patients since it opened in October 2019, including 327 people last year.
Most of the patients are teenage boys.
Of those treated at the clinic last year, 150 were gamers and 177 were family members, up from 99 gamers and 121 family members in 2021.
