Axel fears for traditional skills of kids art

GRUFFALO illustrator Axel Scheffler says he fears artificial intelligence will kill off children's traditional art skills.

Youngsters can now produce incredibly creative images on computers and phones thanks to the new technology.

But Axel is concerned their ability to learn art with pencils, paint and their imagination will suffer.

The 67-year-old said: "AI is a worrying development, I think.

"I am all for kids drawing with pencils and paints and we need to protect this from AI. I do not know what the future will bring.
