ROBBIE Williams had to face exgirlfriend Nicole Appleton at the premiere of a film laying bare his time as her "idiot boyfriend".

The couple's ill-fated two-year 90s romance is unflinchingly portrayed with the singer's blessing in Better Man in which Robbie, 50, is portrayed as a CGI chimpanzee.

Nicole, 49, had an abortion during their relationship, which the film covers and she opened up about in her 2002 autobiography. The All Saints singer wrote: "I couldn't believe what I had done. I wanted to kill myself.
