Clouds lift in the euphoria as Keir brings rays of hope to Britain

FOR hours the rain poured, just like the last time the country watched and waited in front of No10.

But this time there was a different Prime Minister - and no one seemed to care about the weather.

A morning's drizzle soaked through our coats but didn't dampen our spirits, such was the sense of relief and euphoria on Downing Street.

We had something better than sunshine the shining rays of hope. That finally the future could be bright again. That 14 years of decline and decay were finally over.

Even Downing Street police seemed chirpier. Larry the cat had a wander round to see what the fuss was about.
