STRICTLY star Pete Wicks says meeting a pug with cancer on his new TV show triggered memories of his own health scare.
The 36-year-old comes across poorly pooch Murphy in the first episode of For Dogs' Sake.
Pete was shaken when the pet struggled to breathe under anaesthetic and doctors feared he might die.
Biopsies showed Murphy had a cancerous lump in his groin, which immediately reminded Pete of when he found one last year and feared he had testicular cancer like his uncle did.
The former TOWIE star said: "Of all things, cancer is the one that is a bit close to home for me, whether it be humans or dogs.
