POLICE in Germany have found an email account linking Christian Brueckner to Madeleine McCann's disappearance, a court heard.
Prosecutors previously said they have proof that convicted paedophile Brueckner snatched and killed British girl Madeleine in 2007 while she was on holiday in Portugal.
Investigators in the German city of Braunschweig had repeatedly refused to reveal what the evidence against the prime suspect is.
But yesterday a senior detective said officers discovered emails on Brueckner's Hotmail account that show a connection to the disappearance.
It is the first time an official has revealed where they found evidence allegedly linking Brueckner to the case.
The detective, Titus Stampa, said he had no clearance to discuss the content of the emails because it is "related to the killing" of Madeleine.
