A BAN on under-16s using platforms such as TikTok and Instagram will be considered in the new year.
Science Minister Andrew Griffith yesterday said there was a case for new controls after a number of child deaths linked to the sites.
He added: "This isn't a Government that bans things for the sake of it. It is about putting parents in control and protecting our children.
Asked if the Government is considering banning children from social media, he said: "The speculation is about a potential consultation in the new year."
