CHRISTMAS Day's Doctor Who will show the Time Lord and a new sidekick bonding over their shared orphanhood.
The first full episode starring Ncuti Gatwa, 31, as the Doctor will introduce companion Ruby, played by Millie Gibson.
The Church on Ruby Road opens on a snowy Christmas Eve as a woman leaves a newborn girl on the steps of a church.
She grows up to be Ruby, played by former Coronation Street star Millie, 19.
In The Timeless Child in 2020, fans learned that the Doctor was an orphan adopted by Gallifreyans, who then harnessed her regeneration skills to turn their race into the Time Lords.
