GEORDIES, Scots and the Irish are better at detecting fake accents to help guard against outsiders, according to a study.
Cambridge University researchers said they likely place more emphasis on how they speak because of cultural tension with London and South East England.
They found people from Belfast were best at detecting someone imitating their accent.
People from London and Essex were the worst at detecting fakes.
