A PLANNED hike in council tax rates could hit one in four households, opposition MSPs have warned.
The Record had revealed how SNP ministers and Cosla, which represents local authorities, were considering increasing annual charges on properties in band E or higher, on a sliding scale rising from 7.5 per cent to 22.5 per cent.
Labour last week warned that would hammer more than 80,000 of the country's poorest families who live in a band E home.
