Tribute to Selena, 8, as pal fights for life

THE little girl killed when a 4x4 ploughed into an end-of-term tea party at her school was last night named as Selena Lau.

Her family said the eight-year-old was "loved by everyone".

She was killed when a £70,000 Land Rover Defender careered from the road and smashed into people on the grass at the school in Wimbledon, London.

Her family released a picture showing her beaming in her uniform.

In their statement they said: "Selena was an intelligent and cheeky girl adored and loved by everyone."

Another girl of eight and a woman in her 40s were last night fighting for life after the crash. A seven-month-old girl was among those treated in hospital.

Families have been holding vigils at the bedsides of several injured children.

Police said the adults who were hurt were parents or carers, rather than staff.

Teachers at the £16,000-a-year Study Preparatory School yesterday returned to console each other.

Friends laid flowers at the gate where the powerful Land Rover Defender veered off the road to cause carnage.
