Strictly dancer shaves head in cancer fight

STRICTLY dancer Amy Dowden says shaving her head has left her feeling empowered despite it being the most challenging part of her cancer treatment.

Amy, 33, had a mastectomy after discovering she had stage 3 breast cancer and another type of cancer.

She said: "I wanted to share the truth and hopefully help others, and bring normality to a beautiful bald head"

Chemotherapy caused her hair to fall out despite her best attempts to save it, so she shaved it off helped by family including parents Richard and Gillian, and husband Ben.
