PRINCESS Anne was last night in hospital with concussion after being injured by a horse while out walking near her home.
Buckingham Palace said the 73-year-old suffered "minor wounds to the head" in the incident at her Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene and keen rider Anne was treated there before being taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
Sources said while the exact cause of her wounds is unconfirmed, royal doctors suggested the injuries were consistent with a potential impact from a horse's head or legs.
Anne was awake and conscious having tests, treatment and observation in hospital, where it is thought she will remain for the rest of the week.
