AN old mate has a theory on his usual ending to a big day out.

Someone puts his watch forward a few hours, takes all the notes from his wallet before firing loose change into his pockets, ruffling his hair and splattering his new shirt with a few pints.

He's also convinced into believing he's had a great time. Man United against Lyon at Murrayfield and paying up to £80 for the pleasure yesterday felt a bit like that.

Maybe not accompanied by a hangover, but a bit of a rip-off and a feeling the ticket you'd been sold didn't quite deliver on the pre-match marketing pitch.
