Terrified runners left scarred and covered in blood after attacks by angry buzzard's

A JOGGER was left covered in blood after an angry buzzard sank its talons into her head and eyebrow.

Jo Barbour shared a picture of her horrific injuries as a warning to beware of birds of prey after being attacked while out for a run hear her home.

The attack, which narrowly missed Jo's eye and left blood running down her face, is one of many reported by joggers in recent weeks around Scotland.

Jo, from Fife, told how the attack has left her nervous about running near her home.

She said: "It came at me from behind and the talons went into the top of my head and eyebrow. Luckily it missed my eye but it was a close call. It must have had chicks nearby.

"It continued circling above me and swooping down. I was running backwards and screaming with my arms flailing around in the air.

"I did get an awful scare at the time and now I'm a wee bit nervous running on my own in the countryside.

"I've bought a cap though so I feel like my eyes are protected now at least.

I might be left with a scar just above my eyebrow but the rest were on the top of my head so hair hides them.
