THE number of Scots in car clubs has more than doubled since Covid to nearly 40,000.
A report estimates pay-as-you drive car rental schemes have taken at least 4000 private vehicles off the roads, reducing congestion and environmental impact.
The study by shared transport charity Collaborative Mobility UK (CoMoUK), found drivers who switched to car clubs cut their total mileage by 156 miles per year.
