Terror accused in court after manhunt ends

FORMER soldier Daniel Khalife is due in court today charged with escaping from prison.

Khalife, 21, is believed to have escaped by allegedly strapping himself to the bottom of a delivery lorry after leaving the prison kitchen in a cook's uniform.

He was arrested on Saturday after being pulled off a bicycle by an armed counter-terror officer on a canal towpath.

It has now emerged that two guards at HMP Wandsworth, southwest London, have been suspended.

They are understood to have been involved in overseeing the exit of vehicles from the prison complex.
