Matthew backs Hull to be the Euro hero in Solheim

CHARLEY HULL can lead Europe to a historic hat-trick of wins in the Solheim Cup come Sunday, says her former skipper Catriona Matthew.

The Scot partnered the teenage rookie on her debut in Colorado a decade ago.

The world No.8 will now tee up in her sixth showdown with the States at the age of 27 in the form of her life after finishing runner-up in two Majors this season.

The action starts today in Malaga and Matthew, who skippered back-to-back wins in 2019 and 2021, said: "Charley can absolutely be the star of the European team. She's in great form at the moment.
