TRIBUTES have been paid to former British and Commonwealth champion boxer Willie Limond who has died, aged 45.
The Scot had been admitted to hospital after a suspected seizure and "fought on" for 10 days according to his son Jake, who is also a boxer.
In an emotional social media post, he described his father as a "warrior".
The Glaswegian fighter won 42 of his 48 professional fights from 1999 to 2023 including 13 of them by a stoppage knockout.
On social media, heartbroken Jake said: "My dad passed away in the early hours of the morning around 3am."
He added: "He fought on for near enough 10 days. Warrior. Love you da." The world of boxing came together to pay tribute to Willie.
Legendary promoter Tommy Gilmour said: "It's a terrible tragedy.
"He brought a smile to my face whenever he came into the office.
"I worked with so many fighters but before Willie worked with me, I was already a fan because he was a good fighter and he was a good human being.
"All he wanted to do was help people. I remember him coming into my office one winter and we went to the City Missions for the homeless and Willie took them fleeces and scarves and beanie hats. He didn't just think about himself. He was always thinking about others.
