LAST season the League Cup was a ball and chain for Brendan Rodgers as his perfect trophy haul was punctured.
This time around his slick Celtic side are back to resembling a wrecking ball again and already looking good for another Treble.
A Daizen Maeda double and another goal from Nicolas Kuhn, after a horrendous string of defensive errors from Hibs, saw the Hoops ease into the quarterfinals of the Premier Sports Cup.
Celtic had been in total control and although there was an anxious spell when Mykola Kukharevych made it 2-1, for the majority of this game the outcome was never really in doubt. The champions had won 2-0 at Easter Road last weekend in the league and at home this win was even more convincing.
It's still early days for new Hibs boss David Gray but this is another blow for his side.
OK, they might not have expected to win and after they showed good character to get back in before another defensive disaster proved to be their undoing.
Celtic, after what had seemed like a long and drawn-out process, finally got Adam Idah back on a permanent basis.
He has been Brendan Rodgers' summer transfer priority and is finally back in the squad. It's maybe just as well with Kyogo Furuhashi struggling with his ongoing shoulder injury.
It was his fellow countryman Maeda who started this game in the central striking position, with Idah on the bench.
