KEVIN NISBET says Steve Clarke is the man to lift the country again by leading Scotland to the World Cup as he plots the best possible path to joining him there.
The national boss has come under fire for a dire showing at the Euros but on-loan Aberdeen frontman Nisbet believes the national team are in safe hands.
The side begin their pick-meup at home to Poland tomorrow before Portugal away.
Nisbet, who missed out on Germany as he was just coming back from injury and hasn't made the lastest squad, said: "He has got that character where he will pick things up and bring the country more success.
"We just need a result. He's a good type of guy. He creates a good atmosphere in the squad and on the training pitch.
