JOSH Kerr beat his arch-rival Jakob Ingebrigtsen in the 1500m Olympic final last night... but still missed out on gold.
Kerr moved off the final bend past the Norwegian and looked odds on to win just metres from the line.
But he had taken his eye off American Cole Hocker, who overtook him to grab a shock Olympic title.
The Scot had been confident of his chances before the race. But he was upbeat after taking at the silver - and beating his rival into fourth.
He said: "I can't walk away from a championship disappointed. I said what my goals were, it was pretty obvious but I put a performance out there today which I was extremely proud of."
He added: "It's obviously not the colour of medal I want but it is working towards the right colour, from bronze to silver. I just want to thank everyone in my team and the family members who supported me."
