Westy: Monahan not the only one who needs to look in the mirror after Saudi peace plans

LEE WESTWOOD insists PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan isn't the only one left looking like a hypocrite after golf's shock peace deal.

Back in June, Monahan cited the 9/11 terrorist attacks as he suspended PGA Tour players who had chosen to compete in the Saudi-backed LIV Golf League.

But he was then accused of becoming a "Saudi shill" by a group representing families of those killed in the New York atrocity when it emerged the PGA Tour and DP World Tour plan to merge their commercial operations with Saudi's Public Investment Fund (PIF) that bankrolls LIV.

Monahan admitted he'd be labelled a hypocrite for negotiating the framework agreement and faced calls to resign at a heated players meeting immediately after the deal was announced.
