I'll be red-faced if Broon's not cue king's dad.. but them's the breaks

REGULAR reader Scott Stibbs asks: "Tam, have you any idea what the legendary Craig "Sh***er" Broon was up to approximately nine months before the birth of four-time world snooker champ John Higgins (aka The Wizard of Wishaw)? It's uncanny!"

Well, Scott, intrigued by the stunning resemblance, I conducted a bit of research.

John is 47 years old, which means he was conceived in 1975 and I can confirm that's when my auld pal Craig was (yikes!) the assistant manager at Mother well - just a mile or so down the road from Wishaw...

Spooky, eh? And time, surely, for a wee DNA test.

Seriously, folks, I've known John for yonks ever since he was 10 years old and rattling in century breaks in the Mother well Town snooker club while standing on a box - and he texted me this week after being mentioned on Off The Ball.
