Andy might be a legend but he's still 'embarrassing' dad

HE IS a double Wimbledon and Olympic champion, a former world No.1 and a national hero.

But Andy Murray has revealed his eldest daughter, just liked any other child, is "embarrassed" to be picked up by her dad at the school gates.

Murray fought back tears at the Rothesay Open in Nottingham last month when he learned his young family were in the crowd to see him win a title for the first time.

He then revealed Sophia, Edi, Teddy and Lola were more interested in going to McDonald's.

Speaking before his 15th Wimbledon - and on the 10th anniversary of his first title here the dad-of-four said Sophia, seven, is less than impressed by her father being a knight of the realm and British sporting icon.

"My eldest daughter is aware now of what I do but I don't think she really sees it as a good thing," he said. "I think she gets more embarrassed by it to be honest.

"We went to pick her up from school (on Friday) and she will never properly acknowledge me at the school gates or around the other kids at school.
