STEVIE MAY admits secondtop Livingston got what they deserved as they failed to close the gap on Falkirk in the Championship title race.
With the Bairns only managing a draw against rivals Dunfermline on Friday night, the Lions knew they could pull to within three points of the summit with a win over Raith.
Instead, they turned in a lacklustre first-half showing that left them 2-0 down through goals from Dylan Easton and Aidan Connolly.
May stroked in a second-half penalty as Livi threatened a comeback but it was too little, too late for them.
May said: "We gave ourselves too much to do. We didn't start like we wanted to and we knew it wasn't good enough.
"We had plenty of time after my penalty but the difference in the first and second halves is too big. It shouldn't be.
