Football star slams jeering of God Save the King as 'out of order'

FOOTBALL hero Ally McCoist has clashed with the SNP after he blamed Nat supporters for booing God Save the King during a friendly with England.

The Rangers legend claimed "SNP fans" had helped drown out the away side's anthem at Hampden and were "out of order".

But SNP MP Tommy Sheppard said McCoist's comments were "ill judged and regrettable".

He said: "We need a political discourse based on facts not unproven allegations."

McCoist was furious to hear the boos and insisted the home support should have shown more respect.

He said on talkSPORT: "I do not like the booing of any national anthem. I just think it is a distinct lack of respect. I genuinely dislike it intensely. If you can't show respect, I am not talking about England, I am talking about anybody or anybody that goes to Hampden, any football ground or any sporting event.
