TORY peer Michelle Mone has admitted that she lied about her role in a £200million PPE contract.

The 52-year-old also confirmed she could benefit from £60million profits made from the Covid equipment deal.

In a BBC interview, Mone conceded she made an "error" in denying her links to PPE Medpro.

She claimed it was "not a crime" to "lie to the Press" and added: "Saying to the Press, I'm not involved... it's not a crime.

I did lie to the Press but that is not a crime

Mone and tycoon hubby shrug off £60m profits from Covid deal ás calls grow for Tories to throw her out

SHAMELESS Michelle Mone was last night facing calls to be thrown out of the Tory Party after a disastrous TV interview.

The Scots baroness admitted she lied about her part in a multimillion-pound pandemic contract and confirmed she could make millions from the deal.

Brazen Mone also tried to blame the media for her lies and claimed she and husband Doug Barrowman are being made scapegoats by the Government.

Tory peer Mone confirmed she and her children could potentially benefit from £60million profits made by PPE Medpro, which secured more than £200million from the Government to supply protective clothing in the early days of the pandemic.

In an interview with the BBC's Laura Kuenssberg, Mone conceded she made an "error" in publicly denying her links to the firm, which is being investigated by the National Crime Agency.

She admitted she is a potential beneficiary of her husband's trusts, which hold about £60million of profit from the deal.
