MUM GIVES BIRTH ON THE HARD SHOULDER OF M-WAY

Gillian, 29, tells how daughter Lucy arrived during couple's dramatic dash to hospital

A MUM told yesterday how she gave birth at the side of the M8 during a dash to hospital.

Gillian Mossner, 29, was in labour and on her way to Paisley's Royal Alexandra Hospital with husband Nicky when they were forced to stop on the hard shoulder.

The mum-of-three's contractions were so intense she couldn't sit in the car any longer, so Nicky, 32, stopped and called for an ambulance.

Software engineer Nicky said: "Gillian got out the car and managed to get into the back seat.

"The guy on the phone was guiding me in getting ready for the baby coming but I couldn't see baby's head yet.
