TRAGIC Amber Gibson’s evil brother has been convicted of the “depraved” murder and sexual assault of his teenage sister. 

Connor Gibson brutally attacked the 16-year-old in Cadzow Glen, Hamilton, on the night of November 26, 2021.

The 20-year-old strangled and battered his sister, ripping of her clothes before sexually assaulting her during an attempted rape.

Amber’s naked body was later found by vile Stephen Corrigan who inappropriately touched her and tried to conceal the teen under branches near a burn.

Detective Chief Superintendent Paul Livingstone, who investigated the heinous crimes, described the pair as “depraved” and added: “The actions of both Corrigan and Gibson leave them both beneath contempt.”

Jurors heard how Amber and her brother had been in foster care together, but had latterly been living apart.

Amber had been “excited” to see Gibson on the night she was murdered but he strangled his sister after they are believed to have had a row.

The killer spouted lies to various people about what happened after the teen failed to return to the children’s unit where she had been staying.
