A VICTIM of disgraced surgeon Sam Eljamel has launched a bid to have the health board who employed him charged with criminal offences.
Jules Rose, 55, handed a dossier to police yesterday detailing why she believes NHS Tayside was criminally responsible.
Eljamel worked for the health board as a neurosurgeon from 1995 until his suspension in 2013 after a probe into dozens of botched operations.
Jules was operated on by Eljamel, who removed her tear duct instead of a brain tumour in 2013.
By the time he performed a second operation, he was supposed to be under supervision but was allowed to carry out the procedure without oversight.
Last night, Jules said: "Over the years I've collated a significant amount of evidence from various sources that I feel evidences the lack of clinical oversight with Tayside and reaching the threshold of criminality.
"I had written a 20-page statement with the evidence that I'm going to submit in this folder today, so I'm going to present that to Police Scotland - that, I feel, is my evidence that reaches the threshold of criminality.
